KineKilla, let me start be introducing myself, my name is Corey, and I live in Salt Lake City. Moved here from the backwood of Maine where I grew up hunting whitetail, moose, birds, and so on... I really wanted to reach out to you because as I watch the forum I notice that you often provide very knowledgeable & thought out responces. That being said I will be going to taking part in my first elk hunt this year, I will be going to south slope for the general season rifle, and I am planning on a backcountry hunt. Not looking for any honey holes, just maybe if you are familiar with the area some starting points. Where to park the truck, and the areas to work into?
I don't know if you're willing, but i saw your post on the General bull elk hunt about GPS coordinates where you saw elk last year. Do you mind sharing them? I did the South slope last year and it was my first time trying the general bull elk hunt on and want to have more options this year for scouting.
