We hit Scolfield this morning. Launched the boat about 30 minutes before the sun popped up. We were trolling using spoons and spinners.
There were four of us and we caught around 30 fish total from 730 until 2pm. Gold was the color of the day.
My five year old with his 4 foot spinning rod, 4lbs test and a gold spoon with orange highlights out fished us all with a 15 trout tally.
My 11 year old daughter caught the biggest, a 22", fat rainbow. Only 2 bows were caught and the rest were all cuts.
First time for the kids in a boat. Even took the Dobie with us.
The boat master was using a large gold BlueFox spinner and caught quite a few. But the big 3" gold spoons were the go to for the rest of us.
We stuck to the west side of the reservoir and had a great day on the water. Also, the algae content was pretty high making the water pretty murky.
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
