Default 2020 Wyoming Sandhill Crane

Had a challenging but fun crane hunt this year. Got my crane in the morning of the second day of the season.

My brother plucked the crane for me. That's just unreal, cranes have a lot of pin feathers the first part of September. and generally crane feathers don't pull out too readily.

I injected the crane with a brine made of apple juice, butter, garlic and a little salt and cooked the bird to medium rare on the spit in my BBQ grill....low n slow.

Wow, unreal....from now on I'm picking my cranes!

I'll put something up in the Recipe section.
