Default So close

Had a quick opportunity Thursday morning. Was targeting geese, but they never showed. Ducks surprised me though so it wasn’t a wash. Wish I coulda done the afternoon knowing these guys decided to come back, but I had to get back to work latter in the morning....

I’m changing it up today though. I’m taking my youngest boy ice fishing!

I’m sure the ducks are happy you decided to go ice fishing today - you’ve been hammering them!

I had a dozen geese come in low this morning. First time I’ve seen geese in this spot this year. Unfortunately I was loaded with #4 and was in the middle of Re-breaking the ice that had frozen over around my decoys. If I’d waited 5 mins they would’ve come right over my hide.
Nice job on those drakes

First rule of goose hunting - If you want the geese to come, get out of your blind or go re arrange your spread. Anything that lets them catch you with your pants down!! Then they come lol!! Sorry to hear they busted ya.

On a side note, My sons happy with today’s result of me leaving the ducks alone today lol.

I told him he obviously caught all the big ones because he had his SH!TKA beanie on. I had lesser grade clothing on. There is NO other explanation.

I was going to feel just a teencie, weencie bit sorry for you until I saw six greenheads. Nope, don't feel bad for you at all! 😉

Glad you got out ice fishing. That's a great brown. Where did u guys go? I took my son to Hyrum today to try and get some tacos. Pretty slow, but we iced 29 perch between us along with one slimey. My son actually outfished me by 3 or 4. He got out to a big lead early and even though I rallied at the end it was too little too late. These are some of our bigger fish. Avg 9.5-10" with a couple pushing 11".

You weren't on the Spur I hope. We can only handle so many meltdowns a week
