It's capped! Probably not safe yet, but the lake is capped except for a spot near the State park. Looked like 1-2 inches from the road.

People were out in Rainbow Bay and the Charleston side when I drove by just now. Not sure how thick, but they’re out there.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near that ice with what I saw yesterday when I drove by.

Did you happen to notice how much open water there was around the main state park area and Wallsburg Bay?

Agreed. There was still a boat out at the main area next to Wallsburg bay.

I can't recall exactly those locations as I wasn't looking specifically for that, sorry. But I do know there was large portions of open water all around the lake, and the ice that was there looked VERY thin.

And there was some open water in both the places you mentioned, I just don't recall how much.

Thanks for the information.

I might give it a shot on Thursday before all the storms start rolling in.

I drove by again today and it’s in rough shape. Nothing looks remotely safe to me from the road. Need a good cold snap with no wind.

I'm not hoping for ice, I'm planning on float tubing it.
