Default Tannery for hide off leather Buffalo

Does anybody know of a tannery that does tanning hides off so as to make some leather out of my Buffalo hide.

I understand the folks in santaquin only do Hide on.

It's been about 15 years since I've messed with tanning or sending out a hide, but, I used a place in Montana, North of Missoula. It's called "Hair Hide & Fur" look them up to see if they are still in business. If they are, give them a call and see if they will do your Buff. It wont be "cheap" I'll guarantee you that! Buffalo are one of the dirtiest hides to deal with. Especially the ranch raised Buffalo.

Maybe if you call Tandy Leather in Sandy they could point you in a good direction as to who could do it?

Moley Mink and Tannery in Heyburn Idaho specializes in bison tannery. They did a fantastic job on mine. https://moyle.net/contact

I think you mean hair off. There are few options I'm aware of for hair off in the US. You'd need to prep, salt and then ship it out of state. You'll probably just need to search on the web and call around.

For hair on, Moyle is a great option.

I have fox, otter, beaver, martin and deer done by them. They did an excellent job. Highly recommended. And it's a family business.

Eidness (??? on spelling) I know did a lot. Larse, the owner I think passed on and they sold out to someone. Another possibility.

Thanks everyone! Thanks Packout for catching the error, yes I wanted to say " hair off". This gives me something to work on. I appreciate it!
