Default Sons first big game hunt

This was the first year my son was able to hunt big game so I put him in for everything. My dad had mentored his muzzy deer tag but he was unable to seal the deal on that hunt had plenty of opportunity though and was a great experience. The hunt he was really looking forward too was our combo spot and stalk bear and cow elk tags for the San jaun unit, unfortunately we couldn’t find the bears not for lack of effort though saw plenty of sign just never saw the little rascals. He did however manage to drop this calf on the 4th day with one well placed shot at 385 yards with his 6.5 he dropped her in her tracks. Couldn’t ask for anything better then watching him harvest his first animal. Can’t wait until next year!

nice work! Watching our kids succeed is even better than our own success.
