Hey everyone, kind of a long post. So I'm a quadriplegic and I'm confined to a wheelchair. Im 38 years old, married and have a 11 year old girl. I live in Pleasant Grove. Hunting is my life and my passion and I'm having a hard time finding people to go with. I get it, when you think of someone in a wheelchair its kind of intimidating but I'm just like anyone else. Just can't walk. Lol I still love to hunt. It takes a little bit longer to get me into position and setup. Anyhow I figured I'd throw this out there to see if there is anyone out there that would be interested in hunting with me. I've got a bull elk permit that started today on the any bull units but I didn't have anyone to go with. Send me a message if you're interested. Thank you and happy hunting!
I don’t mean to be rude, so if I am, I apologize in advance. Do you have special equipment to be able to hunt? My understanding, from the definition of quadriplegic, is that both of your legs and both of your arms are affected by paralysis. Is that correct?
I’d love to help out if I could feasibly do so. The any bull rifle hunts aren’t until October and only limited entry and archery are open now, unless I’m wrong. What tag do you have? I know several hunters who’d be willing to try to make this happen for you if time permits.
So I have enough strength to use my arms. I don't have use of my hands but I've adapted really well over the years. I've got a truck I drive. I've got a tank chair that let's me get most places. Being confined to a wheelchair, they give me season extensions and one is that I get to hunt during the youth hunt on any bull units. As far as equipment, just bipods and string to pull the trigger.
