If you don’t know how practice at home in the garage not outdoors the night before the LE opens. It was so bad I couldn’t stop laughing and this went on late at night and early the next morning.

I thought the same thing when I was cow calling at a 5x5 last week that a hunter was bugling at. Joke was on me though. It was a bull and not a hunter that sounded that bad. Walked right up to where I was.

One thing that everyone should learn is that most elk bugles don't sound like the perfect on that you heard online or even the audio of one that you heard.

I was elk hunting one year and was keeping track of my partner by chirping on a cow call every now and then, I would chirp and he would return it a bit later. Well this went on for quite a ways up the ridge until I decided to drop down the hill to him. I would of loved to have a picture of my face when I walked into a small herd of elk. I found out later that my partner had turned around and went elsewhere shortly after we had started up the ridge

It is pretty funny. Elk not sounding like elk and hunters not sounding like elk. It has to drive both the elk and hunters crazy.

Plenty of ELK bugling the last few days where I was. Enough that the any weapon hunters can get in on some bulls. The muzzy hunters should have a real blast.

I've listened to enough elk that at times it is hard to tell the difference between them and a 5 year old kid. I once called in a real nice 350" 6x6 that I swore was another hunter. He had a very high squeaky bugle and I have seen some that you would of thought were the bull of the woods only to find out that he is a rag horn.
