Once again over 3400 youth archery tags left with most if not all going unused.

I sure wished that they would take a hard look at this allocation and see if something else could be down with the tags.
High Desert Elk and Arkie like this.

You probably should look at those tags and why they are available again.

I have, there are a lot of them that could be offered to the general public hunter with no problems

Did you read this line?
"(Note: These are bonus quotas of youth archery permits allocated in addition to the big game draw permits.)"

In other words, these permits did not come from the unit quotas for the regular draw (which also bakes in a 20% youth allocation). These are created after the draw is run.

It would be interesting to know the success rate for the youth archery only tags. My guess is it would be extremely low.

But still if they can offer those permits they must believe that there are hunters who want them youth or not.

That is why I think that they need to take a good look at them and decide if they could allocate more to the general draw or if they should reduce this number of youth archery tags

Nope--that is unless we can quantify the hunting abilities of all the adults and only hand out the non used leftovers to the real handi-capable types who have about as much chance of getting a deer with a bow as a kid. Perhaps you would qualify Critter? HAHAHA! Just kiddin man--just kiddin

It's only been 10+ years since I shot my bow so I just may qualify.
