Wow, swb, that sucks. I'll save you a couple trips to the ER, some equipment, and nadd racking, if you pay me to take your possessed bike off your hands

I have used a motorcycle successfully on one of my wife's hunts, then because I didn't have a deer cart we used the baby stroller that hooks to the back of a bike to stroll it down the hill, worked like a charm. I say go for it, but biking is definitely a butt kicker. You have to be in much better shape, deal with packing all your stuff, and if you get one it won't be easy at all even with a well thought out plan to get the meat out. The thing I would not worry about is people laughing at you, screw them anyway. At least you aren't a spandex wearing, fruit farting, hairless ass granola eater. Good luck, take pictures (if your camera survives you landing on it after the f'n stick jumps out at you)

SW: That is some hilarious stuff. Sounds like it could be an article in a hunting mag.
I have ridden my bike for scouting and shed antler hunting many times, and never encountered problems like that. You are very unfortunate or very clumsy.
I don't think I will be using my bike for hunting anytime soon though, my spotting scope can't take me falling on it . Not to mention how much I value my nads.

I haven't taken the time to read the other posts, but a mountain bike is NOT legal on wilderness areas (they ban mechanized and motorized vehicles). So check your map. Most other areas they are fine, even where there are closures to motorized vehicles.

I've mountain biked into many remote fishing spots, but never big-game hunted off one. Let us know how it works out.

I am crying. My gut hurts. And I am still thinking about using a bike myself.
