UWN shirt store FAQHow many or how few shirts can I order? The shirts are made one at a time as they're ordered, so order as many or as few as you'd like. When will the shirts arrive? The company that makes them promises a quick turnaround, but they're shipped from Pennsylvania. The shirt that I ordered took eight days to arrive via the standard shipping option. — More information How much is shipping? It depends on where you live, how many shirts you order and which shipping method you choose. — More information Who makes the shirts? A company in Pennsylvania called Spreadshirt makes the shirts and fills the orders. Who makes money on the shirts? Well, I assume that Spreadshirt makes money, but UWN doesn't. We're providing the shirts with no markup to those who want them. The forum gets a little free advertising when they're worn, but that's it. Can I change or cancel an order? Spreadshirt has a fast turnaround time, so once the shirt is in production, the order can't really be changed or cancelled. It's not possible to unprint a shirt. If the shirt hasn't yet been printed, yes, it's possible to cancel or change the order. — More information Are the shirts high quality? Yes, they're all 100 percent cotton from major brands. Like all high-quality cotton t-shirts, even though they're preshrunk, expect just a little more shrinkage through repeated washings. The details for each shirt are listed on the page about the shirt. Are these screen printed shirts? No. Screen printing is great, but it can't be done economically one shirt at a time. The UWN logo shirts are what they're calling "flex" printing. Flex printing uses heat to embed an opaque, highly durable and slightly glossy image into the fabric. The shirts with the illustrations of various species of fish are printed digitally. Digital printing is sort of like ink jet printing. Digitally printed images fade a bit through repeated washings, but we've purposely created fish illustrations that should look good with the used look that comes with a little fading. Can I return them if I don't like them? Spreadshirt says that since the shirts are customized for us, that taking them back means that they're stuck with a shirt they have to throw away. That being the case, they're more agreeable to exchanges than refunds. If the shirt is defective, however, they do say they will either refund your money or send another shirt. — More information How come they're so expensive? Two years ago, we got advance orders from forum members for several dozen screen printed shirts in various sizes. This enabled us to place a lower-cost bulk order from a screen printing company in St. George. This year, we've opted for a more permanent solution that allows forum members to order various kinds of shirts in several colors and sizes that can be made one at a time as they're ordered.
