The Messiah wants to end fishingThe Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.

Re: The Messiah wants to end fishingYour Republican dominated legislature beat him to it today.

When you leave those two words out, it sounds really bad doesn't it. That's how you put a spin on it.
Re: The Messiah wants to end fishingFor those so inclined to go to the source, it might be a good idea to read Obama's statement on setting up the task force and then read the task force's interim report that was issued last September.
I'm not completely in agreement with the priorities listed there, but I don't see them being all that alarming either. It's basically talking about coordinating the efforts of various agencies and states in tackling problems associated with the nation's coastlines and the shared (Canada) waters of the Great Lakes. There's really nothing mentioned about recreational fishing that I read, nor, in my opinion, should there be since it's not really a problem facing these waters. I could have missed something truly alarming, but a quick cover-to-cover read of the 38-page interim report didn't seem to me to be terribly bad. And I do agree, in principle, that a comprehensive, scientific, ecosystem approach to managing these water might be preferable to the piecemeal approach that's often taken now. To me, managing and conserving the health and future viability of the nation's coastal waters and their resources seems worth having a task force look into. Re: The Messiah wants to end fishingMakes me think of a saying, " Give'm an inch and they'll take a mile." If you aren't worried about your gun rights, your fishing rights,or hunting rights with Obama just keep your head in the sand.

Re: The Messiah wants to end fishing
Are you aware of what your own legislature did to your hunting and fishing rights yesterday? They took 7,000 miles of them away. Was your head in the sand while this happened?
Re: The Messiah wants to end fishing
That was unfortunate. Makes me wonder what kind of deals were made. The loud rich few have a bigger voice than the poor masses. That's my take. Amen to that! I can't believe the A-holes in the Utah legislature. Private property rights are one thing- but the Utah Court fairly determined that no landowners own the "right" to keep people out of a stream. This is about campaign money from people rich enough to own riverside recreation property. Nothing more.
