Howdy! I'm in a similiar situation as you. I moved to Lehi from CO about a year ago and this will be my first year hunting in UT. I have been planning to go to the Uintas for the last week of the General season. I am in decent shape and prefer backpack hunting. I hunt mostly solo, but that is only because it is difficult to find solid partners that want to put the work in to take an elk many miles from the truck. I have calls and know how to use them, but I prefer to locate the elk and then stalk them. I do not have the patience to sit in a blind. I plan on making some multi-day scouting trips off the Uintas Highline Trail off hwy 150 for the next few weekends. I plan to just try and cover as much ground as possible and glass the basins from above. Let me know if you are interested in camping and scouting! dougeemetcalf@gmail.com
