South Fork Ogden - Independance Day

Family plans for the holiday would see my family and I enjoying the cold water of the Ogden, at the Perception Park campground. I'm not too thrilled about fishing here in the summer because of all the tubers, but I wanted time to fish.

I woke early to beat the crowds, but still thought it would be unproductive. My first fish of the day came within 5 minutes, so I started to be optomistic. A total of 11 trout were caught and released to fight me another day. Nothing big, largest measured only 14 inches. All were caught on size 18 and 20 flies.

The day stayed beautiful the whole time we were there. Good fishing, family time, and cold water to take away the heat.

I used to have some great days on the South Fork, when my boys were young.
We would do just what you did. Fish it before the tuber hatch hit the water.
Good memories.
