Default Bassin at Pineview

After my post in k2muskie's pole about rating your year, I decided to try Pineview.
I usually wait until the boat ramp no longer charges to launch but I was looking for a place close to home and the View called me.
My buddy and I launched at about noon, thinking that the afternoon fishing should pick up after yesterdays storm.
That was a good decision.
Some of you may remember that I'm very new to Bass fishing and I have been doing it for only the last year or so.
Today was my best day to date.
I caught over 30 Bass today.
Most were smaller fish, in the 12" size but I did pick up a few very nice Smallies that were 3 to 4 pounds.
I used just 2 different set ups today.
The first was my go to Maniac Cuttr bug in brown color.
I started with a 1/8th oz. jig head. This produced fish but I snagged the weeds a lot. I switched to a Maniac salt stick in changeable craw and fished it weedless. This was the first time that I have fished with it and had any luck with it.
I caught at least 12 Bass on it today. That was very fun.
A bit later in the day, I started using a 1/16 oz jig head with the Cuttr bug and it really started catching the Bass.
The lighter jig head allowed the jig to drop slower and I could feel the bite a lot better.

After a good day of Bass fishing at East Canyon 3 weeks ago, I'm really starting to enjoy Bass fishing.

I sure am happy that I decided to give it a serious try this year.

Sounds like a good day Grandpa D. Do you need to change your vote in the "rate your season" thread?

WTG Grandpa D glad the View treated you well after that storm. You deserve an excellent trip with fish tugging on the end of the ole line...we'll be headed up that-a way for some experimentation....

Yep I'd say the Bass Fish'n at PV has turned on...not tossing traditional Bass lures we managed LMB and SMB...LMB maybe 8-10"...SMB averaged about 7". Dang lures were at times larger than the Bass....

I might head up there tomorrow. Where on the lake should I fish?
I also would not mind hooking a musky. Are they still on?

We did the best around North Fork and Browning Point.
Some of the Bass were in deeper water, away from the shore and weeds.
Mose were caught as the jig was sinking and close to the bottom.
