Went to Otter Creek today with one of my sons and my bassets. Solid 5 inches of ice but it popped and cracked all day. Fishing was slow but managed to land 3. I caught a 17" rainbow and my son caught an 18" and 20.5" inch rainbows. We left about 2 and on the way home decided to go to Panguitch. We should have skipped it. The ice was 6" but there was a 4" slush monster. Set up without the tent and right away my son nailed one. He got it to the hole and I was trying to scoop it out without kneeling in the 4" of water on top of the ice and it spit the hook. Looked to be about an 18" or 19" cutthroat. Fished for about an hour and then called it a day. Not the worst day on the ice especially since there was no wind on either lake. We noticed that Minersville had snow on it this morning as we drove by. That means its been there since Christmas and the -5 mornings the last two days should have it safe. We might try it Thursday.
