Default GSL Marina update

GSL Saltair Marina INFO-
Just an FYI--I know that there are some of us on here that hunt out near the Saltair Marina. Here is a short (unofficial) update on the marina dredging. To the east of the marina they have created several holding ponds to accept the dredged material from the marina. They will pump the silt and sludge up to these ponds, which will evaporate as the material moves from one pond to the other and eventually it will dry up. They will be employing a massive dredger that has teeth to chew into the bottom of the marina before sucking it up to be pumped east. It is estimated to have 50,000 cubic yards of silt to be removed. After all that, the marina should be better able to handle the low water years in our future. Mudmotors and airboats should have fewer problems with low water, but others, including the state rescue boat need to be able to launch from the marina.

Never had a problem launching at Saltair with my mud boat, even last fall. Although, it was the worst year for birds out there i can remember. Granted, I only hunted it a few times last season, but it was dismal at best. Just didn't see the numbers that were normally there.
I know the lake is way down, but I was still surprised at the low numbers.
